Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake

Cherry cheese coffee cake with streusel crunch topping is just one way you can customize your moist and crunchy coffee cake. Use your favorite jam or cranberry sauce or simply discard the filling to suit your taste!

Cherry-Cheese Coffee Cake with Streusel Crunch Topping is a twist on a recipe I’ve been making since I was about 12 years old.

I adapted my favorite coffee cake recipe and added a fruit and cheesecake topping, just placing the streusel on top instead of in the middle and on top. The cake is light, yet moist, and there is a fruity filling and layers of cheesecake that wrap across the middle. However, the top of the nut is the crowning glory.

* Ingredients :

+ Coffee cake and filling
° 2 refrigerated crescent rolls (8 ounces)
° 1 kg (8 oz) package, soft cream cheese
° 1/4 cup powdered sugar
° 1 egg
° 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
° 1 package (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
+ Glaze
° 1/2 cup powdered sugar
° 2-3 teaspoons milk
