Wonton Soup Recipe

It is really just an Asian flavored chicken broth that has Chinese style dumplings simmered in it. To serve it is often topped with sliced green onions and cilantro. It is often served as an appetizer or starter. You can make your own wontons or use a little help from the store to make it a quick and easy meal.

How to Make Wonton Soup
Simmer chicken broth with cloves of smashed garlic and a piece of peeled ginger
Add frozen wontons to the soup and simmer for 5 minutes until they are floating and hot
Remove garlic and ginger from the pot and scoop into bowls
Top with sliced green onions and fresh cilantro

What Kind Of Wontons Do You Use
You can find frozen wontons in almost every grocery store around. These Bibigo Chicken & Vegetables mini wontons are the most popular, and I have seen them in everywhere from Kroger to Alberstons to Target and Walmart to Costco. You really just want small ones, so they don’t take up your whole bowl of soup. Trader Joe’s carries some as well, so just check out the frozen section of your grocery store and you will see something that will work.

This wonton soup recipe can not be easier to make, and it is great on a cold night. I love it as a meal, but you can make it as a starter or first course if you want. It would go great with Chicken Satay Stir Fry for a quick and easy meal.
