During winter, it might be difficult to maintain the freshness of our preferred veggies, particularly those that we use frequently, such as onions. No one ever told me that there was a way to keep onions fresh all winter long and have them on hand whenever you needed them in the kitchen. This method came as a surprise to me, too, but now that Iβve done it, I do it every year in my kitchen.
Finding Out: The Approach is Delightfully Easy and Very Effective. To avoid onions turning soft or sprouting too soon, itβs best to store them in an airtight container that lets air circulate. The onionsβ excellent preservation and the fact that they are readily available even in the dead of winter are the real surprises.
