Instructions:
Prepare the ribs: Preheat your oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C). Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the seasoning into the ribs. Drizzle with olive oil and massage the ribs to ensure even coverage.
Bake the ribs: Place the ribs, bone-side down, on a baking sheet lined with foil. Cover tightly with another sheet of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is easily pulled away from the bone.
Make the honey garlic sauce: While the ribs are baking, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small saucepan. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
Broil or grill the ribs: Once the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and discard the top foil. Brush the ribs generously with the honey garlic sauce.
Broil option: Set your oven to broil and return the ribs to the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
Grill option: Alternatively, you can grill the ribs for 3-4 minutes per side over medium-high heat to caramelize the sauce.
Serve: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or green onions and serve with extra honey garlic sauce on the side.
