Soft loaf recipe

Instructions:

1. Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, warm milk, and melted butter.
Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough starts to come together.
Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
3. Knead the Dough:
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add more flour if needed to prevent sticking, but keep the dough soft.
4. First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
5. Shape and Second Rise:
Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Turn it onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a loaf.
Place the shaped dough into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover loosely with a kitchen towel and let it rise again until doubled in size, about 30-45 minutes.
6. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
