School Cafeteria Pizza
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Optional: Pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, or any other toppings you like
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
Combine: Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to your taste.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Roll Out the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness (about ¼ inch for a thicker crust).
Transfer to Pan: Place the rolled dough on a greased baking sheet or pizza stone.
Add Sauce: Spread a layer of sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Add any additional toppings you like.
