1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup beef broth or water
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
For the French Fries:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin fries
3 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
For the Steak:
Prep the Steaks: Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Let the steaks rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steaks to the hot pan and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until a crust forms. During the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic, butter, and fresh herbs (if using) to the pan and baste the steaks with the melted butter.
