ingredients for mini apple pies

Ingredients

  • Apple pie filling – click the link for my homemade pie filling recipe, and use the instructions for diced apples. If making this recipe with store-bought pie filling, you’ll want to buy one standard 21 ounce can of apple pie filling. The apples in canned filling are generally sliced instead of diced. Simply remove the apples from the can and dice them up into approximately 1/4 inch cubes. This way, they’ll easily fit in the mini apple pies.
  • Crescent roll dough – if you can, I recommend using the crescent dough sheets, so there aren’t any perforations in the dough. If using crescent roll dough, simply press the perforations together with your fingers to use them in this recipe. Alternatively, you could use refrigerated pie dough, or homemade pie crust, for a more traditional apple pie.
