1 cup of rice
2 cups of chicken broth (or any preferred broth)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of cumin
A pinch of salt
Optional: lemon zest for garnish
Instructions:
Sauté Aromatics:
Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they are soft and fragrant.
Add Rice:
Add the rice to the pot and stir to coat it with the oil and aromatics.
Add Liquid and Spices:
Pour in the broth and add the cumin and salt.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
