Recipe Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of cornstarch (Maizena or another brand)
1 egg
½ tablespoon of baking powder (Royal or another brand)
1 teaspoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of cream cheese or similar spreadable cheese.
Instructions:
First, in a bowl, combine the cornstarch, cream cheese (or requeijão), egg, and salt, and mix well.
Next, add the chia seeds and baking powder, and stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Then, pour the batter into a preheated, greased non-stick skillet set over low heat.
Cook until the bottom is golden and easily lifts from the skillet, then flip the bread to brown the other side.
Finally, after cooking, let the bread rest for a few minutes to improve the texture and make it easier to cut.
It’s ready to serve, either on its own or with accompaniments such as butter, honey, jam, requeijão, or your choice of toppings.
