THE BEST CREAMY GROUND BEEF STROGANOFF
If your family is anything like ours, then it is nearing back-to-school time. This means hectic evenings full of homework, after-school activities, laundry, and, gosh, only knows what else. If there ever was a time of the year for quick and easy recipes, this is it. My family loves this quick and easy hamburger stroganoff made without cream of mushroom soup. If I cook my egg noodles while I am preparing the rest of the dish, I can get this easy ground beef stroganoff on the table in less than 30 minutes. For an extra bonus, it is made without any canned soups.
GROUND BEEF STROGANOFF INGREDIENTS
Ground beef – or ground turkey, pork, or chicken
Butter – salted or unsalted
Vegetables – onions, mushrooms, and garlic
Seasonings – dried thyme, fresh parsley, salt, black pepper
All-purpose flour
Beef Broth – preferably low-sodium
Worcestershire sauce
Sour cream – full-fat
RECIPE TIPS
Use a good lean ground beef as I like to add a tad of butter to add flavor to the mushrooms so they cook up really brown.
If you have excess grease after browning the ground beef, drain it before proceeding with the rest of the recipe.
