Equipment Needed:
Large pot for boiling pasta
Medium skillet
Wooden spoon or spatula
Strainer
Measuring cups and spoons
Cheese grater.
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
Boil the Pasta:
Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. This typically takes about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Sauce
Melt the Butter:
In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the Cream:
Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine with the garlic butter mixture. Bring the cream to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
Add the Seasonings:
Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried Italian herbs to the simmering cream. Stir well to distribute the spices evenly.
Incorporate the Cheeses:
Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture, stirring constantly until the cheeses are fully melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
Step 3: Combine Pasta and Sauce
Mix the Pasta with the Sauce:
Add the cooked and drained pasta to the skillet with the cheese sauce. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to gently toss the pasta, ensuring every piece is well-coated with the creamy sauce.
Step 4: Serve and Garnish.
