Creamy Alfredo Mac & Cheese with Garlic Shrimp


Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Garlic Shrimp:
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through. Drizzle with lemon juice and remove from heat. Set aside.
Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly stir in the heavy cream, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Add nutmeg (if using), and season with salt and pepper.
